The manual was 100% perfect when it was sent to the printer's, but a group of gremlins got hold of it on the way and performed dasterdly deeds to the text. Even worser, their cousins tinkered with the program code. As a result, there are a few discrepencies between what the manual says and how the game works. Nothing egregious, but certainly worth mentioning:
1. The manual states that your helicopters can get fuel and maintenance anywhere within the particular world you are flying in. This is not true. Fuel you can get anywhere, but you must return to your assigned hangar for repairs.
2. Control-M no longer toggles the radio on and off.
3. To send a greeting to your Sims, use F10, not F0.
4. An overturned boat is likely to drift. This means that when you arrive at a boat rescue site, you may have to search for the victims.
5. If your game appears to be "chunking" and your helicopter seems difficult to control, here are a few ways to make it run smoother, with much better response:
Bring in the fog closer to your view. You can do this from the graphics control panel with the fog slider, or you can move the fog in with the CTRL-K key combination or out with the CTRL-L key combination.
If your game is still slower than you would like, turn off the ground textures (wavy water, green house lawns and the like). Again, you can do this at the graphics control panel, or you can turn it off with the CTRL-G key combination.
You can also make a big improvement by turning off the building textures. This is all the windows and brick-like appearance that wraps the buildings. Visit your graphics control panel or use the CTRL-O key combination.
None of these changes will affect the way you play the game.
